I appreciated the new Nosferatu (2024) for staying true to much of the original 1922 plot—it’s a well-crafted adaptation overall. However, I was disappointed with the redesign of Count Orlok. Instead of retaining his iconic features, like his gaunt, skeletal frame and eerie, rat-like appearance, he came across as a more generic movie monster. Those unique traits are what made the character so memorable, and their absence felt like a missed opportunity.
