I thought the movie was excellent. I do have some complaints though about the role played by Cage. The character Cage plays is uncommunicative at times when he should be shouting to the rooftops.
One ridiculous thing, both Cage, as a teacher at MIT, and his buddy, ditto, when looking at the numbers can not figure out what all the numbers in between the predictions of dates and how many die in each catastrophe mean.
Did these 'scientists' never hear of the five Ws? Who? What? When? Where? Why? The numbers and the answers are all in those Ws, but they never check for Where.
All through the movie Cage fails to communicate with his son, his sister, the daughter of the woman who wrote all the predictions of catastrophe, and at the end even fails to communicate to his Father, mother and sister as to what happened to his son.
Hated that. What is wrong with this guy? Why so withdrawn? But the acting and visual effects, especially the effects, are outstanding.
