I thought there were a lot of good parts of this book but honestly most of them didn’t revolve around her relationship with her mother. Most of the parts I enjoyed were about her music career and her teenage years of getting into music and the pushback one receives from their parents when they choose art as their main interest in life.
Other than that, it seemed like it was more of her being emotionally abused by her parents and them trying to save grace at the end. Not to mention there is a HUGE chunk of the book that just talks about eating food, it gets old really quick.
