i been , all my life , horrified and mystified by the Manson family. Read all the books , seen all the films and documentaries. When I started this movie , I had no idea it even related to it. What i liked about it is , for the first time, the murderers are not celebrated for their deeds. theirs names are not even uttered through out the film-mostly portrayed as an ominous evil presence.
This film should get an award for how they captured the retro style of 1969-wonderfully done!
The thing that got to me - these victims were just faces to me , for decades . it hit me so hard that 5 beautiful, young lives were snuffed out so savagely . Young lives that had dreams ,loved life , had hopes and dreams and fears and insecurities. Finally someone gave these people the human qualities they long deserve. I finally felt heart broken and sad for them , and felt horrible for not feeling that earlier.
