Ryan gosling was great, and the rest of the cast, with a few exceptions, did well. There were three things that made this movie fall flat. 1. Chris Evans is just awful. I’m not a fan. Outside of his role as captain America he is very two dimensional, and utterly boring. I haven’t seen a movie with him in it that I felt wasn’t a waste of my time since the infinity saga ended. 2. There was waaayyyy too much fpv drone use in this film. A little is a good thing, this was just beyond excessive. Every shot felt jarring and ultimately pulled me out of the film as I was watching. 3. There was no pay off. You want to see sweet revenge on the horrible Evans character and you don’t get it. You want to see the two main bad guys behind the seems get their comeuppance and you don’t. You want things to resolve in a satisfactory way and they don’t. Ultimately this film was watchable but not rewatchable. Just ditch Chris next time and you’ll get a fourth star Netflix. He’s just dragging us all down.

I really enjoyed this movie. It was a bit formulaic at its core but aside from the tried and true format of man v beast I thought that it was an incredibly good entry into the predator franchise. Flipping the script and gender swapping the hero was a great move. Amber Midthunder steals the show here. Just enough vulnerability with a solid bit of believable action. High praise for her very moving performance. The film over all was beautifully shot and directed so hats off to the film and photography crews. This film does what some others in this franchise failed to do and makes me excited about the films again. Great job Hulu for making a great movie. I recommend this to anyone looking for a great action sci-fi especially if you are a fan of the franchise.
