My husband and I walked out of this movie halfway through with our 2.5 year old last night. We hadn’t heard much about it, but if you care about Biblical truth, this is not the movie. The movie is not centered around the Gospel, does not proclaim Jesus as Messiah, and is partial truths mixed with lies. This is not creative liberty, but rather quite irreverent to our Lord & Savior’s sacred birth. As we sat there, the Lord convicted our hearts so deeply at the mockery, we had to leave. We felt ashamed for taking our son there, as we are trying to lead him in truth. I understand what a donkey is called in the Bible, but in our western culture it is considered a curse word. As a “family” “Christian” movie, no “curse word” should be even remotely hinted to, even in the name of comedy, but especially in a movie about Jesus. I do not recommend this movie.
