Watched it yesterday with the wife and it was unfathomable to us as to why a film like this would garner such negetive reviews. Because while it isn't a masterpiece by any means, it is a lot better than the average fare dished out by the film industry in recent times. I guess a sensible film like this is at odds with the climate of hyper masculinity and nationalism of our current times. We have a strong reason to believe that the reviews were posted by hate mongers who are a part of the boycott brigade. The film is engaging in parts and emotional at the end, has good songs and really good performances by Kareena and Mona Singh and a decent effort by Aamir. Events from history have been nicely integrated. We quiet liked the film but found ourselves comparing it with the original. The people who haven't watched Forrest Gump may have a different view. A few years back, this film wouldn't garner the hate it is getting now. It's a lot like PK which did well.
