For starters, the title seems to be an attempt to ride off of the deserved fame of "Physical 100" while this show's core premise is absolutely nothing like it. This centres only on 8 people competing with each other.
Producers choose songs for their choreographers. This severely invalidates the first challenge (to showcase their own personalities) and all future challenges. It forces some choreographers to have a much more difficult time than others, and for some to have an advantage. Further, this WILL limit the dance styles that can be used. I was expecting many different dance styles on this show and the vast majority of what I saw was commercial dance.
The "judges" are the dancers. And only a handful get to verbally critique. They dont redistribute the dancers each round... working with a choreographer and the same group of dancers for several rehearsals multiple times will increase the chance of bias. This also means there's no real criteria, no objective rating of anything at all. Hate to compare but since the title is asking for it.... Physical 100 challenges were completely objective.
The audience reaction during the performances was annoyingly loud. Cutaways to people's reactions mid-performance are distracting, as always. Simple technical screw ups took me out (e.g. not properly lighting dancers on the upper level).
The only redeeming quality were of course the choreographers and the dancers' performance.
A proper dance battle is not choreography, it's freestyle.
Jumping from 25 to 100 dancers between the semi finals and finals does not give the choreographers appropriate practice and shows that the show didn't even care to follow its premise of moderately building difficulty.
Writing this long review because I love dance shows, love to dance, and hate to see a show supposedly about its choreographers choosing to do them dirty. Take care.
