Be ready to invest your time and emotions into a wonderfully made film. I love fast pace movies but this one was slow yet felt so beautiful as you dwell into the mind of Jakub. The friendship and bond formed with the alien is deep and meaningful, so much so that the end was heartbreaking. It is not a typical Hollywood movie , it is an adaptation of a Czech book. Based on my knowledge of Czechs their art is very deep and this movie has captured it beautifully. You can find a lot in this movie & how we want to continuously want to hunt for happiness without realising that we already have that happiness in our family and loved ones. Adam Sandler was amazing he pulls you into the character & you can feel the pain, the despair , the confusion and the hope. Paul Dano’s voice makes you fall in love with Hanus , it is monotone but he does it so well with the atmosphere (“skinny human”) I can’t normally sit through movies unless there are enough of thrills, yet this movie proved me wrong.
