I have always watched it! I was five when I saw the first episode in 1963 and when the daleks arrived in the 2nd story; I was hooked! I loved them and I never hid behind the sofa, never even thought of it and inched my chair forwards to see them better.
The new series are much better to watch but mainly because of technology and CGI which were unavailable in the earlier years and a 6d budget didn't get very far!
I do, however, have a problem with the Weeping Angels; something that comes back everytime I see them. I have just watched the New Series 3 again and I can't believe that no one else has realised this; we have TWO EYES so therefore it is possible to blink one eye only whilst maintaining a watch with the other eye, then blink the second one and watch them with the eye first blinked.I tried this, concentrating on the single eye blink and I was able to watch a whole episodewhilst always having one eye on the screen. It is not difficult and I am surprised that none of the doctors, from David Tennant onwards have not thought of this!
