it really doesnt bring that much to the table
SPOILERS
Visually its absolutely amazing, but it really lacks in everything else. It just feels like it would've been better as a series cause the 5 different nations just feel very crammed and skimmed over. I like the theme of trust but it really shoves it down your throat like we get it Raya should trust people more. But it is like the movie forgets about how Raya feels like she broke the peace because she trusted people. And its not like Raya doesn't trust people because she literally trusts Boun, Tong and Noi because they have mutual reasons for it.
Two characters that really get on my nerves are Sisu and Namari. I really didn't like how they did Sisu's character, like I get it the great last dragon is the runt of the family so it's like kinda comedic. But girl please stop with the one-liners like we get it you're the comic relief character played by Awkwafina. And Namari is just an awful character like "oooo my mom wants me to do this so I'll do it" would be excusable if she wasn't a full grown woman.
Namari never gave a reason to be trusted. She's literally the reason the peace is broken, was chasing down Raya and presented herself as an enemy, and is the reason for Raya's trust issues. Raya has every right to not trust her and Sisu really got on my nerves about that.
The scene where Raya tries to make a deal with Namari is one of the worst scenes in the movie. Sisu shows her trust in Namari and what does she do? Pulls a crossbow on her. And it even shows HER HAND TIGHTENING AROUND THE TRIGGER and Raya rightfully gets worried and stops Namari. AND THEY TRY TO SHIFT SOME BLAME FOR SISU'S DEATH ONTO RAYA?!!?? It's just a mess.
idk the fight scenes where amazing though
