I am so happy to see Disney create a culturally appropriate and overall empowering version of such a one of a kind classic. I find it amazing how the original film inspired and impacted so many different kinds of people and i'm overjoyed to think about how this new take on Mulan will touch a whole new generation. Although it does feel weird knowing this won't be exactly like the original with a fun soundtrack and classic characters disney fans have grown up loving; it does feel good knowing that we will get a more respectful and true representation of the culture and have Mulan's story be even more true to Mulan, herself rather than a love interest. I can only imagine the magic I will get to see come to life with this film.
