Many people become disappointed in Annie Hall as they go with the expectation of watching a comedy. It is not that Annie Hall is not a comedy but it is never forces itself to be. It is all about the relationship between Alvy (woody Allen) and Annie (Dean Keaton). Kind of life of slice. It doesn't try to be loudly laughable (nevertheless sometime it is) It is just a look at two people sometimes, through a microscope, sometimes through a telescope. If you want a mindless comedy to pass time or forget about something you want to forget about don't watch it. but if you want something for your feelings something a little thought provoking than go for it. And please don't harbor an ill will toward it just because it was chosen for Oscar over Star Wars
