This is Walker's seminal collection.of frministic essays to be seriously read and studied in order to understand her main ideas and evaluate her as a feministic writer.

Walter Scott being the contemporary of Tipu Sultan wrote this novel.based on his friend's narration. His depiction of south India and especially that region of Mysore does appeal vividly. But what is important thing is to reveal the monstrous nature of an Indian sultan. The narration of events is less pictorial because of Scott's secondhand knowledge of the country.

As I have been in the field of the study of British Writings on India Henty' this book on the controversial king Tipu is the first modern narrative on him. Henty was Meadows Taylor's predecessor. One must read this firstbefore reading any other on Tippu.

THis is one of the later novels of Masters. It is against the Afghan War. Masters eulogies the bravery and sacrifice made by Savage hero who is also in TheLotus and the Wind. It is basically a war novel and it foresees Masters later novels set in abroad not in India
