Sorry but why do bands reach a level & then feel the need to overproduce everything they do? Elbow have been amazing since day one because they were inventive both lyrically & musically but seem to have lost their way in my opinion. Trying new sounds is obviously a good thing but the album has little cohesion & whilst there are a couple of decent tracks it's more filler than killer. Die hard fans will not appreciate this review & although I've seen them 5 times at various points of their career & been blown away I'm really not excited by the prospect of the gig on May 15th. Apologies again.
