I was impressed as usual by Timothy Spalls great acting. I was totally convinced that he was 90 years old until I remembered that he is in fact younger than me. As previous reviewers mentioned the poor direction and production let the film down. I longed for some more 'meat' on the bones of the other characters. I was irritated by the unremitting bleakness of the whole trip. And in the final part was astounded that Lands end could rustle up a whole league of nations of bystanders . But for me the whole thing was saved by 2 small words. I wont say what they were but if you watch the whole film you may agree that they formed the crux of the matter.
