A fabulous movie and so completely true to the experiences and perils of the pioneers bound for California in the 1840's. I had read many books from this era of the westward migration prior to seeing the movie. The details shown in the movie were so accurate, even to disassembling wagons and lowering over cliffs, the immense desert to be crossed with so little water along the way that many died of thirst, the Indian attacks and so much more. John Wayne at 23! Just amazing, greatness was his destiny. An A+ movie.
