From the first scene - black and white in the same school in 1942?! - I was about to throw in the towel on this one. Bad script, direction unconvincing, music inappropriately dramatic in scenes that didnโt warrant it. I only kept watching so I would know the general story. Acting wasnโt bad, but everything else was painful.
