Firstly, a beautiful game, brimming with atmosphere and potential. Creative direction was definitely influenced by the compelling BioShock Infinite. Unfortunately, the lack of innovation in gameplay and originality truly take an otherwise serviceable game down a few pegs.
A clone of FS games with unabashed tracing of so many elements (with different names) there too many to mention. This game makes the souls-like genre well feel like it’s completely run dry; so much so that even UI elements are carbon copies. We can do better.
Lacklustre voice-acting (and lip-syncing) are another artefact from older games, with tired facial expressions and rigid rigging.
Overall, a tame avatar of the games that inspired it and that makes one realise just how good Bloodborne actually was.
