Instrumentally resplendent and lyrically profound; overall, an emotionally mature record that entangles itself in your heart strings. It's another addition to one of the finest catalogues in the history of British music. Let's hope it isn't the last.

This album matures with each listen. It requires time to absorb its depth, breadth, and sonic nuances. It's best experienced as a whole, because as a concept it is intended to be a complete idea rather than a segmental work. I've lived with all three acts for five days and have come to appreciate that while this isn't the Pumpkins I grew up with, it is an evocation that has its own merits; the world is a better place for this record. That said, I would welcome vinyl represses of the 'Machina' albums. The wait has been too long.
