Sowmya Guntooru

I watched this movie with great expectations, as I love plants and gardens. But I was totally horrified by the events it chose to show instead: disgusting polygamy and polyandry, the life at the king's court , the same 2000 people "going through" each other, as one of the characters puts it. There are a few beautiful dialogues and my favourite scene was the one where Sabine meets the King who is disguised as somebody else. I expected a lot more gardening, plants, flowers and landscaping ideas, but what I got was melancholy ( the dark lighting doesn't help) and deep disappointment. Kate Winslet was phenomenal and so were the other characters, but the storyline was absolutely out of focus as far as the garden of Versailles is concerned. This movie has upset my upbeat mood . So here's a warning to everyone : If you love gardening, this movie will ruin it for you. Please don't watch it.
