I bought this book on Audible. The story is profound but the narration is absolutely superb. Edward Chisholm’s book is seriously one of the best I have ever heard. The accents brilliantly slide from French to Spanish to East European to Portuguese. Some of the humiliation he puts up with as L’Anglais (so?) are heartfelt but the story he tells is vivid and amusing. I felt educated and entertained every step of the way. Deserves more than five stars.
