Doesn't seem like you'd have to undermine the entire franchise to make it more inclusive. Having a story with no white men in it is really fine, but it seem like the storyline is intended to shame and devalue the entire the franchise - Jedi stole the galaxy from a righteous order of witches? (Not even "space witches" or some sort of construct with the world of Star Wars? Nope, coven of witches.) Jedi are evil now? Wookies are sexist misogynists? Are we supposed to feel bad for liking all of the Star Wars movies in the first place?
Why did Disney go to such lengths to shame their own fans for liking the protagonists that launched the franchise? There seem to be elements of a unique story here (the separated twins angle, the prequel-prequel concept, nature-of-the-force questions -- all good) but it's smothered in finger pointing and shame. No individual character in this story seems worth rooting for, or having any interest in; you're either rooting for the coven, or you're a (Jedi!) colonialist supporting the tyranny of "The Patriarchy". This show is trying to be "challenging" but it isn't -- it's just tired; from what I can gather, the only purpose of the show is to leave the audience angry or filled with shame. Is Star Wars worth feeling bad about yourself or your neighbors for?
Don't drink the blue milk Cool-aid over this one ...
