A paradox of a book: the short essay format makes it easy to read, but the content is gut wrenching. Still, Dr Samah manages to convey a sense of hope despite the impossible circumstances she lives and works within. Her insight, wit and wisdom permeate every page as she patiently and authentically paints a picture for her readers. Read this book if you want to truly understand some of what it's like for people in Palestine. And what we can all do to decolonise our minds and try to support them and others living in horrific situations.
