I thought this series was phenomenal. The acting was even better! My only bone to pick with the writers, is that I wish the story would have been told in a linear fashion; rather than Cora having flashbacks and such. For instance, the episodes could have been in numerical order, based on the events. I think it would have been easier to understand for some viewers. If you're going to back track and show flashbacks and a characters earlier life; I believe that the scenes need to be more clear and concise. Such as, the writer-producers' did with the movie "Harriet". There was a brief recant of the time when Harriet's head was cracked by the overseer. But for the most part it was very cut and dry. I just believe that for people who aren't avid history/black history fans, such as myself, this series may be difficult or confusing to keep up with. I have read many of these stories, so I was able to draw conclusions and understand various scenes before they even happened. Just food for thought.......
