Most importantly, the message which was meant to be conveyed- women protecting their friend from her emotionally abusive partner, was put across well. At first the boyfriend doesn’t seem that bad, and I have seen other reviews saying ‘he’s not that abusive’ etc. However, he is bad, he isolates and controls her, and I think the fact that they made some of the abuse more subtle and made him quite charming made it more powerful. There were some parts which I felt they could’ve taken further to fully get to grips with her mindset. Overall a good and important film.
