Although I have a limited understanding of Jewish culture, and perhaps with a greater understanding I might have gained even more insight into the characters that Edith Pearlman creates I enjoyed this book very much because it has such humanity.
If you have lived a few years, and maybe experienced the vagaries and uncertainties of life then you will appreciate this book, and although you may well feel less secure on completion you will I believe feel strangely content in the knowledge that you always knew that life was like that.
