You can tell this film has a good impact as it illicit's outrage in the ‘women are baby machines’ crowd. All teenage girls should watch this film to make themselves aware of how they are going to be perceived and pressured in their futures. The animosity levelled at childless women is realistic as portrayed in this movie, be it their choice or not, and the idea of childbearing as the main purpose of a woman's existence being constantly pushed by the medical and wider community is recognisable. From smug, pregnant women rubbing their bellies in the faces of their childless counterparts to busybody medical personnel inserting themselves into womens reproductive choices, it all rings horrifyingly true. With toxic family with their own selfish needs pushed forefront despite the woman's personal choice and feelings also represented, it truly belongs among the horror genre. It's descent into the examination of trauma and psychosis exacerbated by fertility treatment taken to the level of brainwashing and body mutilation feels perfectly logical to me as a comment on a society that always values its infinite continuation over the lives and well being of its women.
