I didn't care for this film. Usually a DiCaprio, DiNiro, Scorcese movie is a higher quality story and production.
At 3.5 hours long I found it to be slow paced and characters were ambiguous in their own awareness of the story they were trying to tell.
Despicable, racist people doing horrid things is the plot and I kept wondering, though it was 100 years ago, if the course of action and reaction by victims and perpetrators could be possible.
Since this is billed as a true story, the answer is yes. But this is a tale where as you watch you really wonder... why/how could that happen?
