Even if you don't know Joe Costanzo and his story or have never been to The Primadonna, it’s still a compelling page-turner that is incredibly well-written.
The Costanzos, and especially Joe, were so gracious and welcoming to me and my friends when we visited the restaurant during our college years at Duquesne in the late ‘90s. He treated us like we were his most important customers even though he knew we were poor college kids who were banking on the free zucchini and roasted red peppers since we couldn’t afford to pay for them and still afford an entrée! Joe Costanzo, The Primadonna and all the great meals we had there inevitably come up every time we get together. There’s not much I wouldn’t do for another meal with my family and friends at The Primadonna!
