I managed 49 pages before giving up. The protagonist was dire self absorbed and uninteresting, the colonials were boorish, shallow and unlikeable and this was repeated so many times that the novel seemed to be going nowhere.
I really wanted to like this book about the author of 1984 which is so relevant to our current cultural wars but alas, it was not to be.
