Im a Star Wars fan from way back. I heard all the bad things, but went in with an open mind, or I tried to. Its def a modern Star Wars tale. Peaceful women, hunted and attacked by predator males. I think this comes from the writer's time as Weinstein’s personal assistant. It warped her, so she fit right in with Kathleen Kennedy and the female oppression narrative.
That being said, I love the scenery, and I like seeing it from the side of those who opposed the Jedi. Its better than a SyFy channel original, but it is not amazing. But, if you are needing some scifi and you can separate the implied narratives, it’s worth a watch. Andor was a lot better. If they get rid of Kennedy this year, they can write some good stories again with multiple narratives, and quit alienating the male fans, who by the way, buy the toys, and Lego sets, action figures, and memorabilia. There is room for all to be fans of Star Wars. I just think Kennedy is at war with males. That is fine, if she wants to be at war, but as a business, I don’t understand it. I guess Im just, sadly, too old for the new Star Wars.
