Delightful read! Great start to my 2024 with Yellow Face. I loved this book because it offers a deep insight into the publishing industry and the many biases and pressures that writers face throughout their careers. Being a journalist, I thoroughly enjoyed and related with Athena and June's ĺove for the written word, the rush they get out of creating diamonds from a few nuggets of information and the many layers of human emotion that all the characters bring out through their wins and struggles, and their understanding of the world around them.
I loved the presentation of the story and the plentiful racy episodes by the author. I go nuts for back-stories of characters, situations and absoutely anything that can be traced back to its origin, so I am more than satisifed with the ocean of details the author provides. Lastly, the goosebumps that the story kept offering leave me with a contended heart, compelling me to read other works of Rebecca Kuang.
