I normally give a series or film on Netflix 20 mins max before deciding it hasn’t got enough going for it to warrant my time but fool me once slipped through the net . Using a numbers analogy it’s kind of got all the right numbers but they don’t add up in the end . Great plot ( far fetched ) good actors and great writer . Great locations and lots of twists and turns . It has a lot of filler content that’s not relevant to the plot with the main police character constantly is collapsing with some ailment a pregnant wife who he’s learning to dance with etc . In short after 4 episodes I realised I wasn’t enjoying it . It isn’t believable . I am aware that they are all acting . Even the music is misplaced and somewhat over powering . When I watch peaky blinders or the wolf of wolf street I know it’s fiction and they are reading from scripts . The music sets the scene but isn’t over powering . But I believe it . It’s sold to me as real and it’s done beautifully and almost effortlessly . With this series I can’t say the same. .fool me once scores a 1 for me where a peaky blinders is a 10 .
