I enjoyed this game immensely, it answered a lot of questions I had coming from inquisition with fun combat and lovable companions. The writing in the tutorial can be a bit iffy at times and amazing at others but once youโre out of them having to lore recap stuff it tends to evens out into decent writing overall. If you liked inquisition I recommend picking this up to finish the story of the dread wolf
Pros
-very cinematic felt like I was playing a movie
-awesome act finales
-jaw dropping final act
-fun combat that is easy to respec at any time (I played orb and dagger mage)
-loved all companions
-love that the companions hang around the base allowing it to feel lived in
-fixed common criticisms from dai (hair, banter bugs, quest monotony etc) which made me feel listened and valued
-cc is AWESOME, it has like 80+ hairstyles! I fell in love with my rook!
Cons
-did not like the music score, was very electronic? I donโt mind an undertone of electronic esp considering how modern some areas like Tevinter are but it felt overused and everywhere. Would have liked more orchestral sounds.
-some parts of the writing felt โokโ when I feel like if they pushed slightly more and compounded even a few more lines on that train of thought if could have been โgreatโ not a common enough issue to make me mad, mostly in the tutorial I noticed.
-some of the writing (specifically when talking about โmy teamโ and helping them with their issues) felt less like something organic and more like a constant dev reminder to DO THE PERSONAL QUESTS GUYS!!!!! It just got annoying after awhile.
-took out the ability to kiss our romance options whenever from dai? Which sucks a lot I liked that feature and i hope they patch it in.
-No new game+ (even for cosmetics)
