If you are coaching and need guidance in organizing your program this is a fantastic resource. Having coached with Bob Krizancic in the 1990’s I can tell you firsthand that his commitment to the program and its members is second to none. The best actionable example I have that describes the program and his commitment to his players was early in his tenure at Mentor…Bob is imploring Jason Iapollo [presently coaching w/Bob] to shoot the ball. Jason was something like 2/23 from the field and started passing up shots. It was a close game and Bob never gave up on Jason. Constantly telling Jason to shoot. We ended the game with a big upset and Jason’s shooting was that little run that was just enough to put us on the winning side of the score. It was a pivotal win for Mentor and the program. From that point forward I knew Bob would stand behind any player he coached. He believes in them and over time they come to believe that they can overcome all odds to succeed. Read the book, visit the off season programs, take what works for your program and completely dedicate yourself to your vision. I enjoyed reading and reminiscing over Bob’s work. I’ve taken the information and incorporated it into my coaching philosophy and business practice for over 25 years. Thanks for all you’ve done Bob! You deserve the best!
