The French Dispatch is everything you might expect from a Wes Anderson movie, and more. Glorious to look at, all kinds of jokes, sly and robust. His usual All-Star team of actors. But underneath is something solid, as there is in all his movies. How do we communicate with each other and are, maybe, some ways better than others. With a sense that, yes, there are better ways and we are not using them much anymore, and there's something sad about that.So as well as a lot of fun you get a small Fernet Branca of melancholy.
