I was excited for this film, but genuinely fell asleep twice during it and had to re-watch.
I cant tell if its a satire about toxic masculinity or not. The father does allow his family to communicate how the feel at all, forcing his son to go out with him on a dangerous mission where he almost dies, and refusing to listen to his daughter. This is all paraded as him 'helping', which he does genuinely seem to care etc, but his family is insanely unhappy with his iron fist, and it takes us to the end to see a family flourish.
The lack of sound is indeed a inovative touch, but in all honesty I was neith scared, nor invested.
