I don't give it a 5 because of the stupid ending. But overall, an 8.5 out of 10 I'd say. A great way to end the seemingly unanswered questions from the original 70's movie.
****Spoiler alert****
I love how they incorporated a bit more of a backstory. How the woman that actually raised him up was pretty kind and honest. How the end of her basically recreated and empowered the monster in him and represented the end of his 50 year long no kill streak, the end of anything left in him that was good.
Love the badass contractor, love the boss babe that came back to avenge. Although it was rather corny lol. Still enjoyed seeing her character again.
Also enjoyed the new generation stuff they put in here. People really would live stream 🤣
Overall I'd say this movie showed that we're all pretty bad judges of character and that as flawed as Leatherface is, he was just an ordinary boy with a tough upbringing that possessed the ability to love. Seeing him clutch his mother's clothing and wear her makeup (Norman Bates anyone?) let you in on a very tender side of the character we've all only ever seen to be ruthless and unforgiving.
Anyone that threatened the only part he felt was safe was ultimately going to meet the chainsaw. And rightfully so. Moms are off limits.
Fantastic movie.
