Hard to believe this is by the same director as The Sixth Sense. I really thought it must be some sort of poor attempt at a spoof - the acting is wooden, the dialogue worse than in a bad B movie. Direction is really shaky too. The original idea must have been a good one but it's all gone horribly wrong...
