Remarkable - every time you think you have a handle on what you are watching, it veers off into not only a different direction but a different genre. Part murder police procedural, part supernatural horror, part near future Science-fiction thriller. And what looks to be a story about corporate greed and technological or supernatural evil ends up being a tender meditation on mortality and the things we do (or don't do) for love.
Nuance is as important as action - not just in the dense dialogue but in the tenderness between the characters. And if at times it is hard to keep up with the dense dialogue and multiple Chinese names, it well repays the effort you put into the one inch at the bottom of the screen.
