Honestly I really enjoyed the classic Aliens style episodes in space and the inclusion of other alien species was interesting but that was about it. The storyline with the synth children just meandered around and there was far too much ambiguity artificially injected into the storyline which made it feel like the writers weren't really sure which way to go with it. I've read most of the Aliens series books and of course watched all the movies and even some of the comics like "Music of the Spears" so I was willing to give a bit of a B Story series a go but this just doesn't live up to the rest of the Aliens franchise. If this does somehow manage to get a second season approved I doubt I'll watch it.

I finally got around to watching this movie and it just isn't good in any sense of the word. Most of the movie was tediously boring with a few halfway decent action scenes but definitely not enough to get you through 3 hours of monotony. it's hard to imagine how low the bar must be for people that give this movie a five-star review.

I've tried really hard to like this show but sadly the story telling is tripe. The creators are trying entirely too hard to tap into current events while failing to creating a science fiction fantasy based in the future. Even given that this is a work of Science fiction, events in the show are just so outlandish they defy even the largest stretch of the imagination and situations feel so forced it's awkward to watch. This is hands-down the worst incarnation of the Star Trek franchise. I've seen fan-made YouTube series with stronger writing, better characters and a more entertaining plot. I know it has nothing to do with the Star Trek universe but I have found The Orville far more entertaining.
