This was a bad movie that wants to be good. I love Mike Flanagan's work and I think this is his only bad movie. The production values, acting, and all that are great. The biggest problem I have with this movie is how stupid the killer is. A lot of the things that happen in this movie are very improbable and mostly anything that happens is the result of poor decision making or conveniences like the character having their back turned for a long time. I found this movie more unbelievable than anything supernatural or fantasy, simply because I'm watching these characters make decisions that make absolutely no sense. I'm not sure why this movie gets so much love, but wanted to share a different opinion as I don't see anyone else noticed these things.
