I've wanted to read the books since the first one came out, but unfortunately I live in the South of the United States and my family is very conservative, so when the show came out i used a friends account and watched it. I personally thought it was AMAZING, as someone who was raised in the homophobic and transphobic part of the country it was very eye opening for me how it's not just the US that has those problems. I know it was a bit much for people in other countries but in the US it is way worse (I'm saying that as a Bisexual person). It was cheesy at times but not compared to some of the stuff my mom watches so it didn't really bother me that much. I just got the books for Christmas and it was pretty accurate, but the books are obviously better. The show covers volume one and 2 of the books, they are making seasons 2 and 3 and I CAN'T WAIT FOR THEM!! I think that they casted the show pretty well and the side characters were amazing too! Although Tao needs a new haircut.
