An amazing nostalgic last hurrah from history’s greatest hero. This film is an enjoyable action filled return for the good Dr in his final cinematic picture. It is enjoyable and entertaining leaving the viewer craving more when the credits roll giving a fresh coat of paint to the worlds greatest archaeologist with a good sense of both nostalgia and a new fantastical tail.
No I’ve finished this movies praises time to look at it’s flaws. As a massive Indi fan I was very grateful for the focus on past events but it does alienate new audiences who are not so familiar with the good Dr’s exploits it’s still a good movie don’t get me wrong but the emotional value is lost. This film debuts 15 years after the franchise’s last instalment which is not fondly remembered as well as it being 42 years since his original cinematic debut making him sadly irrelevant to modern audiences giving this film a narrower demographic. Due to the franchise’s age it doesn’t fit into the current nostalgia stream of 90’s to 2000’s media which seems to be popular at the moment making the franchise to old to be nostalgic to most mainstream movie goers. This combined with bad press and word of mouth doomed the film to a lack of mainstream interest leaving it reeling on the small fan base of truly loyal fans and the remaining people interested to see it.
I loved this movie don’t let the reviews fool you if you like the original trilogy of films you will find this an enjoyable experience!
