Was quite happy with the first episode but I do struggle with MacKenzie, who lacks the character and personality of previous Death in Paradise Det Inspectors. Will persevere but I fear I may start watching re-runs of the original series set in Saint Marie. Much more enjoyable.

Watched episode 1, with subtitles on as I struggled to understand the accents, but was disappointed with the storyline. There was a lot of time spent on domestic and family relationships - the usual ex who now has a new partner, and is step-dad to the child. Sorry, but I prefer the old Rebus.

Terrible over-acting by the lead protagonists. Can only assume that 'Sam' has a back problem as he seemed unable to stand upright when the Police Officer called at the house (episode 4). Nothing really added up in the storyline, and I never quite got to grips with the farmer character. It's not a series I would want to watch over again.
