While the all-star, A-List cast is alluring, the story is pitiful. I’d heard it started out as an upbeat, glossy rom/com/dram about the general behind-the-scenes of a top-rated morning show, but then changed focus with #metoo and the scripts are being written throughout production. It’s basically a huge waste of all of this wonderful talent. The plot and focus is all over the place....Is it about sexual harassment in the workplace, or is it about a corporate take over, or is it about journalism? Steve Carrell is creepy, Jennifer Aniston is in a perpetual break-down, and I don’t think anyone can figure out what the Reese Witherspoon character is supposed to do - her characters seems to bounce around in a state of utter shock, shifting from an angry mess of a pariah who drinks and swears and behaves inappropriately, to a sweet, likable, humanizing element to this crazy, neurotic cast and crew. Each week I decide to give it a try, hoping that It begins to come together, but as I round into episode 10, I’m not encouraged. I’m going to drop my subscription to Apple TV+, which I joined just because of this show. In my opinion, not worth it.
