I was clinging so much and FF most of the time that I felt better to stop watching in the beginning of season 2.
Bad things:
Bland plot with so many inexplicable holes, weak motives for people's attitudes and confusing unfolding of the story mixing world catastrophe, weird hackers trying to pose as heros with political coup | dubious scientific claims and aspirations | fast and unrealistic entanglement of characters that wouldn't happen in the real world | side romance within their job roles and jealousy that derail the story | main cast selected by looks and how hot they are | US-centric theme on how the president is going to save the world is not in line with Trump's America and his legacy (on a crisis, surely the US would behave immorally e.g. modern piracy' diverting COVID masks meant for Europe ) | young characters with no life experience, credentials or management skills (graduate, writer, junior journalist) getting important intel, taking lead in companies and projects is difficult to believe | naivety in thinking only an American student detected the coming of an asteroid to Earth ahead of ESA, NASA or any other country | ark of salvation gathering 160 best people in world taken to Mars with no preparation or full awareness of the grave situation unfolding is a joke | the fact that the world will be saved by only 2 people is difficult to swallow | a graduate Astrophysicist knowing another subject in-depth - computer science - is unbelievable let alone an Elon Musk who knows everyone, everything (computers+technology+science) and owns all scientific inventions on Earth | father, daughter, son disappearing from the show suddenly and their family not noticing or caring (probably to cut down the show's cost) etc etc
Funny how the tech firm uses Windows as OS and that "green code rain" motion graphics unashamedly ripped off Matrix for the AI Tess...
Good things:
Casting exploring diversity: Black, East Asian, gay couple, woman as president / fast-paced story that will entertain you a little bit between big TV shows. It's like being in a typhoon where you don't really know what's going on and why BUT you blindly and foolishly follow everybody in the show. If you want to enjoy this show, you'd better put your brain to hybernate.
