Okay, straight up, the worst part about it is the fact that they didn't let the original VAs sing, despite the fact that they absolutely can. It's incredibly jarring, and it happens so frequently. They let Keith Silverstein, the voice of Hawkmoth, sing. Because I guess they thought they could get away with it, there are times where the vocalists say lines that should've been said by the VAs, and it's very noticable.
All that aside
The VAs are of course wonderful, all of them.
The music otherwise is fine, if a little poorly timed.
The visuals are beautiful, and a nice evolution of the original show.
The editing is very snappy when it needs to.
The story is simple, but effective.
The comedy always landed.
They managed to give the three leads better characterization and chemistry in an hour and a half than the series did in 4+ seasons.
Very much worth a watch, even if you've not seen the show.
