I’ve only recently got into Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts thanks to my Mom’s love for the franchise. And I thought I would start to like the franchise for the years to come. But then they slapped every fan in the face and basically said “Btw, Dumbledores’ gay! #GayRights!!!” and my Mom, a true die hard fan who has read every book and watched every movie who put so much love in this wonderful world, said that she wouldn’t watch any more Fantastic Beasts movies for a long time. I’m honestly surprised that they managed to get her bored and disappointed of this movie. The worst part about it is that they made Dumbledore being gay such a big deal. Fantastic Beasts is not about the “former love” of Dumbledore and Grindlewald, it’s about Credence and his past, how Newt and his magical animals with a bit of romance with Tina, the ACTUAL love story between Jacob and Queenie, and though not the big one HOW THE HELL did Nagini become a damn horcrux!
The first two movies were far better. Rowling had spend too much time with sensitive twitter users who probably don’t even watch or read the books and movies instead like of actual fans. I don’t know how they will turn this around, if they ever do since the chances they’ll make another movie is low and far between. If they got rid of Dumbledore being secretly gay this probably would have done better. Companies and owners are worried that they’ll upset woke snowflakes and will try to appease them instead giving what the fans and therefore will lose so much more customers or supporters. For anyone out there, you have to work with your fans, not a third party who don’t care if your idea succeeds. Thank you for coming to my Ted-Talk.
